Information for senders

Note for senders who are not affiliated with the partner practices of T-BAG Molekularpathologie-BW GbR:

Please do not send any test requests directly to our molecular pathology laboratory. Please send your test request to one of our partner practices so that it can be recorded there and the decentralized transmission of findings can take place later from there. Unfortunately, test requests sent directly to the molecular pathology laboratory cannot be processed for legal reasons.

Please note the following conditions for optimal diagnostics:

Report turnaround times

Our goal is to keep turnaround times as short as possible by optimizing internal processes. We currently offer the following turnaround times:

  • Single gene analyses and MSI (Idylla Biocartis):
BRAF, EGFR, KRAS, NRAS, POLE, MSI: 1-2 business days
  • NGS solid tumors (except large gene panel OCA+): 3-5 business days
  • NGS liquid biopsy: 5-10 business days
  • NGS large panel (OCA+): 5-10 business days

Disclaimer: The turnaround times do not include postal delivery times and refer to the time between the arrival of the sample material at the molecular pathology laboratory of T-BAG Molekularpathologie BW GbR and the release of the molecular pathology inspection report by the submitting member.

Instructions for liquid biopsy (cfDNA)

Blood collection and shipment of samples for mutation analysis of cell-free DNA (cfDNA)

In liquid biopsy, circulating cell-free tumor DNA from blood is examined for tumor cells or tumor DNA rather than solid tissue samples.
Therefore, please be sure to follow the instructions below for obtaining and shipping such samples.

We also ask that you send us the corresponding histological findings. If sequencing has been performed on tissue material in the past, we also ask that you send us the corresponding sequencing results.

The form is available as a PDF in our download area or via the following link:

Pre-analysis

Test material

Genetic testing is performed on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) material. We process both paraffin blocks and blank sections sent to us by pathology institutes that have performed the primary diagnosis. The tumor content is determined on the basis of the hematoxylin-eosin section, and the sample is subjected to microdissection depending on this.

In addition, we offer tumor genetic testing on cell-free DNA from blood samples.

General note:

The medical services provided in the T-BAG laboratory of MolPath-BW are billed on the basis of the GOÄ and EBM.

The Teil-Berufsausübungsgemeinschaft Molekularpathologie Baden-Württemberg GbR (Molecular Pathology Baden-Württemberg Professional Association) has an established complaints and appeals management system. Submitters and, if applicable, patients can use the contact details provided on the website for this purpose. Complaints and appeals are treated impartially and processed within a reasonable time after receipt.

Please follow our instructions for handling the test material carefully, as deviations from these instructions may result in the planned tests being carried out only to a limited extent or not at all.
